- List of must & must not do's, should & should not do's. Apologies if some of these points seem obvious...
Contents |
Must Do
- All new pages to belong to the
[[Category:Awaiting Update]]so that they can be found later when searching for incomplete pages. Only remove this category when you know that the page is finished (at least for now). See also Template:WIP in Can Do section below - Spell Check everything! If you get false errors, then correct your spell checker!
- Copyright permissions must be checked & adhered to if the content is not original / is uploaded from other sources.
- Put category tags at the end of the content. There is a case for putting the category tags in-line if specific sections (as opposed to the whole page) belong to a particular category - to be discussed by moderators
- Cite references when used (see Help:Contents for info on how to use this feature).
Must Not Do
- Make up your own Categories without referring to a moderator.
- Upload abusive or illegal content.
Should Do
- Use Categories that already exist if they are suitable.
- Layout your page in a logical, easy to read (and understand) fashion.
- Use lists / tables where applicable.
Should Not Do
- Write all in CAPITALS, unless there is a good reason.
Can Do
- Use Tables of Contents by inserting
__TOC__(that is 2 x underline each side of 'TOC') where you would like a table of contents. Note - these are automatic for any page that has more than three header sections. - Inhibit automatic Tables of Contents by inserting
__NOTOC__(that is 2 x underline each side of 'NOTOC') anywhere in the page - Place 'Under Construction' banner at top of page when starting. Use the template 'WIP' -
{{Template:WIP}}. Use in addition to the category 'Awaiting Update'.
