TCR - Report Installation Walkthrough

Once you have successfully installed TIP and TCR, you will need to install the reports applicable to your system. We will install the ITM OS reports as an example.

1. Download the ITM OS reports from the Tivoli OPAL (Open Process Automation Library) site (http://www-01.ibm.com/software/tivoli/opal/ or search for “tivoli opal” in Google). Search for “tcr” when on the site for report sets to get:

The ITM OS reports ZIP file contains an installation PDF and another ZIP file (the actual file to be imported), so you will need to unzip the downloaded file before the reports can be imported.

2. Start TIP by navigating to http://localhost:16310 in your browser. Note that you will be redirected to a secure (https) page, which will complain about the security certificate. This is perfectly normal, just proceed to the login screen:

3. Sign in as the TIP administrator (tipadmin) using the password you defined in step 13, above:

4. Once logged in, you may take a walkthrough the many features of the portal by navigating via the “walkthrough” link on the main, right hand pane. To install the OS agent report set begin by clicking on the “+” next to the “Reporting” menu item:

5. The TCR window opens in the main, right hand pane. Note that it can take several seconds for this to complete.

6. Click on the “+” sign next to “Tivoli Products” to view the tree of TCR reports installed. On our new installation there is nothing below “Tivoli Products”, indicating no report sets have been installed:

7. Right click on the “Report Sets” line at the top of the tree and click on “Import Report Set”:

8. (1) Use the “Browse” button to navigate to the report set zip file and select it.

(2) Click on the “Advanced Options” twisty (ringed on the right) to open the options.

(3) Enter a name for the “Security Set”.

(4) If you are overwriting an existing set, tick the “Overwrite” checkbox.

(5) Click on “Import”:

9. After a couple of minutes, the “Import Report Package” dialogue is removed and you may expand the tree by clicking on the “+” signs:

10. Clicking on, for example, “Availability”, loads those reports. You may need to pull the report window down a little more to see them!
